Terms of Use
Effective August 28, 2026
Acceptance
These Terms are an agreement between you and Bryant Almanza, the operator of Kredo. By creating an account or using Kredo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Kredo.
Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 to use Kredo. If you are in the EEA or UK, you must be at least 16 or the minimum digital age of consent in your country, if that age is lower.
Your account
Kredo supports email-and-password sign-in only. At sign-up you provide an email address, password, lowercase username, and first and last name. A profile photo is optional.
Your username must be 3 to 20 characters and may contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores. Keep your password private and do not let another person use your account. You are responsible for activity through your account.
Your username reservation is freed for reuse if you delete the account. Recommendations and ratings that remain after deletion keep the former username as a frozen attribution.
License to use the app
Subject to these Terms, the operator gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Kredo.
Your content and the license you give us
You keep ownership of the recommendations and other content you post to a group. You give the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license limited to hosting, storing, backing up, and displaying that content to the groups where you posted it. The license lasts only for as long as the content is on the service.
This license is not perpetual or irrevocable. It does not allow advertising or promotional use, sale, sublicensing, or training artificial-intelligence models.
Recommendations and ratings that remain after account deletion stay on the service under the frozen username, so this limited license continues for that remaining group history.
Acceptable use
Do not use Kredo to:
- post or share unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or defamatory material;
- harm or exploit a child;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent who you are;
- violate another person's privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- send spam, scams, malware, or deceptive links;
- gain unauthorized access to an account, group, or Kredo system;
- bypass access controls, interfere with the service, or attempt to bulk-enumerate usernames; or
- encourage another person to do any of these things.
Reporting and enforcement
You can report a recommendation or a person from inside the app: open the menu on the recommendation or profile, choose Report, pick a reason, and add details if they help. You can also report abuse by email to support@joinkredo.com. The person you report is not told who reported them.
You can block a person from the same menu. Blocking hides that person's recommendations and profile from you and yours from them, and prevents invitations and new interactions between the two accounts. You can unblock in Settings.
The operator reviews reports and may dismiss a report, remove content, or suspend or terminate an account. Filing a report does not guarantee a particular outcome or timeframe.
Recommendations are opinions
Recommendations and Hit or Miss ratings are users' opinions. The operator does not endorse a recommendation or verify a claim about a business, place, product, or other subject. Cred is a Kredo product feature, not a certification.
Places, links, and third-party content
A recommendation can include a place from Google Places or a pasted link with a server-generated preview. Google Maps Platform terms and attribution requirements apply; read the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
Kredo's server fetches a pasted page to make the preview, so that page sees a Google Cloud IP address rather than the user's. A viewer's device loads a displayed preview image or avatar directly from the host serving that image.
Copyright and DMCA
If you own a copyright, or are authorized to act for the owner, and believe material on Kredo infringes that copyright, email a notice to support@joinkredo.com. The notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if one notice covers multiple works;
- identification of the material and enough information for the operator to locate it;
- your name and contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
If your material is removed because of a copyright notice and you believe that happened through mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same email address. It must include your physical or electronic signature; identify the removed material and its former location; state under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification; and provide your name, address, telephone number, consent to the relevant federal court's jurisdiction, and agreement to accept service from the person who sent the notice.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how Kredo handles information and is incorporated into these Terms.
Notifications
Kredo stores a device push token only after you grant iOS notification permission and uses it only to deliver invitation notifications. An invitation notification contains the inviter's username and the group name. The token is deleted when the account is deleted or when the token goes stale.
Suspension, termination, and account deletion
The operator may suspend or terminate an account for conduct prohibited by these Terms. The operator may remove content.
You can delete your account in the app at Settings → Delete account. You must type your username and complete a second confirmation. See Delete Your Account for the steps.
Deletion removes your group memberships and their membership mirrors; saved recommendations; block records on your account and their mirrors; the profile document, including username, first and last name, photo URL, Cred, and tallies; the username reservation, which frees the handle for reuse; the avatar file; and the Firebase Authentication record, including email address, password hash, and ability to sign in.
Recommendations and ratings cannot be deleted by a user, including their author. After account deletion:
Your recommendations and ratings remain with your frozen username so group history still makes sense.
Groups you created also remain for their other members.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Kredo is provided “as is” and “as available.” The operator disclaims express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Some laws do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
Kredo is a free service. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from Kredo or these Terms.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator's total liability for all claims arising from Kredo or these Terms will not exceed USD $100. This limit does not apply where the law does not allow it.
Indemnification
To the extent allowed by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold Bryant Almanza harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs caused by your content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of another person's rights.
Governing law and venue
Texas law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except for an eligible small-claims case, the state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from Kredo or these Terms. Rights that cannot lawfully be limited by these Terms remain in effect.
Dispute resolution
Disputes will be resolved in court, not by arbitration. Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small-claims court.
Changes
If these Terms change, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using Kredo.
Apple-required terms
This agreement is between you and Bryant Almanza, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Kredo. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
General provisions
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the operator about Kredo. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest remains in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
